Do You Even Know the Problem with Your Position-Sizing?

I have seen a lot of traders struggle with position-sizing.

May iba na gumagamit pa ng position-sizing calculator pero nag-eend up pa din sa mali.

Mali in the sense na kinacalculate na nila ang position-size nila pero they still blow up their account.

Marami kang nakikitang theory at ideas about position-sizing pero wala ka halos makikitang real live position-sizing sa trading.

Lahat theories lang and there lies the problem.

Let’s say may 100,000 pesos ka.

You will only lose 2 percent of that per trade.

Two percent of 100,000 is 2,000 pesos.

This would mean na may 50 chance or 50 trades ka na puro talo para mawipeout ang 100,000 pesos mo.

Yes, tama ya, SA THEORY!

Once nasa real live trading ka na ay almost impossible mong mamaintain ang theory na yan. Yang 2,000 pesos na loss per trade might not be a comfortable amount for you.

You also need some form of loss limit that goes with your position-sizing.

Hindi ibig sabihin na 2,000 per trade ang loss mo as per your position-sizing eh you will go and trade 50 times in a day.

Marami na ang nagkaroon ng blown account na nagwowonder, “tama naman ang position-size ko as per my formula pero bakit nawipeout account ko?”

I have been trading for decades. Isinabuhay ko na yang position-sizing na yan. Di ako magsusurvive ng matagal kung di maayos ang mga size ng trades ko.

You need to operate sa live trading na set-up to properly understand position-sizing. Kung yung idea mo about position-sizing ay galing lang sa theory then you will have a rude awakening talaga sa live trading.
